If you need assistance at any time feel free to contact our support department by emailing
support@bytehosting.com
or calling toll-free +1.866-894-6192. Our technicians will try to guide you through the process as best as possible,
however, please note that if there
is some component in your PC malfunctioning we may refer you to call a computer repair technician or refer you to our
advanced repair group as these issues
are beyond the scope of our technical support and this document.
These instructions apply to Windows XP, but the process in
Windows 2000 is similar.
- Open My Network Places from the Desktop.
- From your My Network Places folder, click 'Add a network
place.'

- When asked where you want to create the network place, select
"Choose another network location"

-
Specify Location
Use the following information to fill in the following dialog
"https://webdav.bytehosting.com/<example.com>"
|
Replace '<example.com>' with your domain such as if your domain was 'bytehosting.com'
https://webdav.bytehosting.com/bytehosting.com

- Username and Password
*** CONNECTION IS SECURE ***
Our WebDAV connections are fully encrypted.
In this dialog please fill out your FTP username & password.

- In the 'Enter a name for this Network Place' text box, enter a
name. The name Windows fills in for you is probably ok to leave as
is.
- To complete your WebDAV setup, click Finish. A Microsoft Web
Folder appears showing the contents of your WebDAV-enabled folder.
Files in the WebDAV folder can be managed through the Windows
Explorer just like any other file in your computer.

You may see two files in this directory - .htaccess and
.htpasswd - when you connect to it. These files do need to be there
and you won't be able to delete them, so they can safely be
ignored.
